I have an Intertherm electric furnace. It will not run on auto but will on " ON". What could be the problem?

The thermostat set to "auto or on"?

Will it run when you lower the thermostat temperature settings? Try 2 to 5 degrees below the displayed temperature, and tell us what happens when set on auto.
