My hose bib is attached to a plastic hose with a brass ring crimped. I can turn it but it won't come off. I replaced the washer but still runs when turned off? What can I do next to fix this?

How old is the install? I assume it is PEX with the crimp. I would first try to replace the washer if so equipped. If you cut the crimp off, and try a replacement, you will need the crimping tool. What color is the tubing? PEX would be red, Poly ethylene is black and Poly butylene gray. Yes, a picture would help.

You will probably have to cut it off and re-crimp. I suggest that now you install a Female Fitting at the end and screw new hose valve into the fitting. That way, next time you have to replace hose valve, you don't have to worry about cutting and crimping your PEX pipes.

Hope that helps

Don't necessarily need a crimping tool here... depends on answers to questions presented. Wayne, answer questions... may be a pretty quick fix here if you do indeed have PEX tubing (plastic tubing with crimp fitting).

Back to you...
