Son-in-law convicted as sex offender for viewing pornography of 16 yr old girls online. No contact with any child, girl or person. Finished sentence and is on 5 yr probation and at halfway house. Told he cannot live with his children despite no action with any child or person whatsoever. Is there any recourse? Please don't misunderstand us not recognizing the concerns around this issue because we have been through a living nightmare. But all evidence shows that this was visual without child involvement online or in the home. 5 years out of a child's informative life without their parent is a long time and during the year before his case he was allowed to live in the home with his children after being evaluated as safe to remain in the home.

No recourse, in fact he will be registered as a sex offender for life. There will continue to remain significant restrictions that will continue for life. You both need to have an official list of what they are and carefully comply with them. He will have been provided a list of these already.

No, there is no recourse. He was allowed to live with the children because he was not found guilty yet. Since has has been found guilty, restrictions will be imposed on him, possibly for the rest of his life.

The recourse would have been to appeal the conviction at the time. But once the conviction is entered there is usually no recourse to the terms of the sentence. You need to consult an attorney to see if there is any possibility of modifying the terms of the probation.

I will say, that you can get an attorney and ask for supervised visits with children only. Where any visitation is done at a faculty approved by the court, and under supervision of someone approved by the court.
