Hi I am pregnant and it 11weeks now. I had a bleeding in 6th week . Doctor had given IV injection and one medicine and asked to continue duphaston tablet.today I have consultated another doctor. She is asking to take profasi 5000 injection once a week instead of duphaston tablet. I am confuse what to do. Should I continue duphaston tablet or profasi 5000 injection.. (ultra sound report is normal as on 2nd June.)
Please suggest

When you had the bleeding, was a cause determined? Did you have progesterone level checked? Did you have an ultrasound? Both medications are sometimes used in the prevention of a miscarriage, but in different ways... and doctors have different viewpoints on the effectiveness of them for that purpose. Were you told that this is why you were given the medication? Have you had miscarriages prior to this pregnancy? Sometimes it is done as a precaution, even if there is no obvious threat of miscarriage. Is there a reason that you saw the second doctor?
If possible, I'd speak with both again and try to find out what their reasoning is for medication use in the first place. Then ask about the pros and cons of both medications. You'll need to put your trust in one of the doctors, and discuss any concerns, so that together you can decide what you feel is the best option.

Yes when I had bleeding doctor had done ultra sound. Doctor has not given any reason for why there was bleeding. She only said sometimes it happens for few. For medicine she told that duphaston will help prevent miscarriage.
No I did not had any miscarriage before . This is the first baby we are expecting.
The reason to consult other doctor was , we heard that duphaston is banned in some country.
Can you also suggest till when we have to take this medidine. The ultra sound report on 2nd June is normal.
