Ok the problem I am having is that my computer, which has a msi k8m neo-v mobo with a amd 754 64 athlon 3000 cpu in it and ddr 400 512 ram. Every thing seems to power up , but I don't get any video. I have tried the onboard video, 3 different agp cards and 2 pci cards, and I have cleared the bios, etc, and I get the same results. SO I bought ram, a new mobo new case , new vid, another 754 cpu and well guess what, I have the same problem with all the new stuff. I just read that I may be having a motherboard grounding problem so I am checking that out , any suggestions? I have built god know how many computers and I have never had this problem. So if someone can help I would really appreciate it, thanks

Sorry, but I have to ask, did you check your monitor with a known good source? Based on the information you have provided, it sounds as if your monitor could be bad, or possibly on an alternative source.

Good Luck,

I figured as much but thought I would get it out of the way. Did you perhaps, use the same power supply for both and if so, do you have access to another you could try? Also, you could try running your setup outside of the case. Mobo, power supply, hd, etc. all setup on a table. Just put a non-conductive item underneath your sensitive parts to prevent any shorts. If this works then perhaps you need to check the back (solder) side of your mobo for extra long leads that may be shorting out on the case or closely inspect how the mobo seats within the case and what parts may come in contact with it. Any parts you find can be covered with an insulating tape.{ Black electrical will do, a clear tape is available at electronics stores such as Radio Shack.}

Good Luck,
