If my wife was nominated for such a position within a corporation - should she or would she have had to sign anything agreeing to becoming such an official.

Thank you.

William.

Does she have to sign anything? NO

But then, they might withdraw her name from the nomination process.

Will they ask her to sign something? Maybe.

If they do, make sure she reads it over first.

Don't know where you live, but if you are being governed under SOX then she might have to sign something acknowledging she would be an independent board member, etc.

If they ask her to sign something, read it over, and if you want, take it to a lawyer even to check out.

Hello ogre:

No, she doesn't HAVE to sign anything, just like when you get a job, you don't HAVE to sign anything. However, most for most jobs, you WILL have to sign some stuff. So, it wouldn't surprise me if this company wants her to sign some stuff.
