Ok well me and this guy have been on and off talking. One day he will act like he's super interested and likes me a lot but the next he will just ignore me and be mean. We have fought seriously once and I stopped talking completely and then he came back and tried to talk again a month later. On minute it seems like he liks m an the next he acts like he hates me I just need to know whether he loves me or not. BTW I'm up for the rollercoaster for the person I love. He has bipolar by the way.

What are some signs for a bipolar person who is not on medicine that they are in love with you. My guy I really like sends mixed signals one day is very flirty and lovey next day acts like I don't exist.

Has he been diagnosed as bipolar by a medical professional?

If so, why isn't he on meds?

He said he doesn't like how his meds make him feel. He is very stubborn so there is no talking him into anything including taking them. @wondergirl

He said he doesn't like how they make him feel. He is also very stubborn so there is no talking him into anything. I just wanted to know are these mixed signals common and what are the signs he really does love me.

Bipolar illness runs on my father's side of the family. His mother had it, as did his brother. When they didn't take their meds, they were very difficult to deal with. The one side of bipolar is depression which means being very inactive and just sitting, even crying. Mania, the other aspect of bipolar, means behaving in e.g., overly happy or too social ways, maybe spending money inappropriately, but always over-the-top behavior.

It's time for your friend to talk to his doctor to tweak his meds -- maybe change the dosage or try a different med that works better for him. Unfortunately, it might take a while to find the right med. Plus, he needs to be involved in talk therapy, too. That's hugely important.

Does he love you? He doesn't seem to love himself, so how can he love anyone else?

Whatever his issues if you cannot deal with him, now as he is, then don't get your hopes up that it will change, whether it's a medical condition or not. Consider yourself on the roller coaster already and chances are you will ALWAYS wonder if he loves you, so the question becomes can you deal with the wondering?

I think you talk to him and explain it very clearly even though it sound like you have already and he still refuses to take meds. That means his behavior is not likely to change and you will always be on a roller coaster ride. You already have a preview of his love and is that enough to base your decision on staying with him? I hope so because I doubt it gets better, or he changes so you accept what he gives or not and frankly, that's what we all do anyway, ride the roller coaster of love until we get enough and want to get off.

So the question does he love you is not important since he seems to leave and comeback later for whatever reason. The real question is can you accept this, and for how long?
