My furnace burner lights but only for a few seconds and then goes out, then relights and goes out. The blower runs continuously during this process. Is this a bad limit switch?

What brand and model, how old? Flat ignitor? Pilot light? Spark ignition?

Sounds like you may have a dirty flame sensor. With out more info its hard to say.
