Am I pregnant?
I had unprotected sex on 24th. My last period was Feb 26th and my next period should have been due on the
26th March as I have a 29 day cycle, which is only ever early or late by a day or two. I did seek emergency contraception. However, I didn't clean the ejaculate off properly, so there was quite a lot on my pants. May this have diminished the effect of the pill? It has been 5 days and my period has still not come. Could I be pregnant?

Maybe...
Why do you think that you're pregnant? The best way is a missed period, all other "Pregnancy symptoms" can have multiple causes and lead you down the Garden Trail. If you've missed your period by two weeks, take a home pregnancy test with the first pee of the morning.

80% you are pregnant. But you should take pregnancy test if you not sure.

Possible, but not likely. While you can become pregnant if you happen to have an off ovulation, the timing of your sexual encounter to your expected period would make it unlikely for it to occur at that time. That you used an emergency contraceptive, also makes it unlikely. While they are not 100% effective, they are quite good when taken as directed.
Most likely your period is off due to the emergency contraception, which is a known side effect of their use. Give it some more time, and you can always try a pregnancy test to ease your mind, if you still don't have a period.

Sarah, how did you come to the conclusion that there's an 80% chance she's pregnant? She said that she took the contraceptive pill, which is a big clue as to how to accurately answer this question. The contraceptive pill, or morning after pill, can and does change your cycle. It can make you miss your period, or have more than one period in a month, and many other side effects.
Also, from reading her post, it doesn't sound like he ejaculated inside of her, but onto her. Very very unlikely to get pregnant that way, especially with the contraceptive pill.
This site prides itself on accurate answers. We welcome you to the site, but please, if you don't know the answer to a question, simply refrain from answering. Also, there's no way, even if she hadn't taken the pill, even if he had ejaculated inside her, that you could say that there's an 80% chance she's pregnant. Not even a doctor could give an accurate guess!

The pill you took, can cause you to miss a cycle. (I assume you read the instructions including all of the warnings about the many side effects of the pill?)
This is the most likely reason, as it can also alter even your next cycle.
Discharge on your pants, does not cause and can not cause pregnancy and has nothing to do with this.
If you are 14 days late, you can do a pregnancy test.

This info wasn't here when I first read this. Your monthly will likely be a little out of sync for the next couple months. When you take a emergency contraceptive you're giving your body a high dose of hormones that's meant to prevent pregnancy. This will throw off the delicate balance of your cycle which will mean the time between your periods will vary. What I had initially posted is still relevant and correct. Please follow that advice as well.
