Will I strip a female adapter if I over tighter to a brass fitting

If it is brass, you will most likely strip the thread. Also, it may develop a hair-line crack as you keep tightening it.

If it is plastic Female Adapter, it will most-likely split in half.

Best way to go is to use an adapter for this type of connections
