I am quite confident that I am pregnant, but am very confused! About three weeks ago I had my period, it was fairly normal, however it came a few days late, at the start of the period I also had a little pink spotting. After my period came and went, lasting about 3-4 days, I continue to feel cramps on and off every day. I have had symptoms of naseau, cravings, cramps, including my in my lower back, bloating, fatigue, headache, flucuations in body temperature, changes in mood, changes in appetite, hightened sense of smell. I have been on birth control for the past three months, this past month I changed birth controls. I took an in home pregnancy test first in the morning a week ago, the result was negative, two days later I got a blood test, the result was negative. Two days ago I went to the hospital (I'm living in Brazil), and they ran a blood test and pee test, both of which were negative, they say that I am perfectly fine... However my pain so severe that I can barely get up at all during the day, the headache, naseau, and cramps are constant for the whole day. After the first pregnancy blood test I felt very strongly that I was pregnant, or the birth control was causing this. Since the first test I stopped my birth control, this week I started having period like symptoms, but the blood is more like spotting, it is on and off at different times of the day. Today it was a dark brown color. Am I truly not pregnant? I feel like I am, I feel awful, if I am not, what could it possibly be? Has anyone had a similar issue?

Sadly we can't begin to even guess what's going on. The only way to diagnose pregnancy is with a urine test, blood test, ultrasound in later pregnancy, or giving birth. You've had a urine test and blood test, and both came back negative.

It could be that you're testing too early. I'd wait another 2 weeks and then test again using first morning urine.

All of your symptoms can be attributed to other things, pregnancy is just one of those things. I would see a doctor to discuss the symptoms you're having, tell him/her that you truly believe that you're pregnant despite negative pregnancy tests, and then go from there.

Good luck.

"I am quite confident that I am pregnant". But, you have had 4 negative tests and the blood test for HCG is pretty accurate. Pregnancy symptoms like you indicate would not start this soon.

While you may have some symptoms of possible pregnancy, severe pain is not common.

You've had a likely period a few weeks ago and several negative pregnancy tests, the last just a couple of days ago... all of which do not suggest pregnancy to be the cause of your symptoms. The starting and stopping birth control is a consideration.

If you continue to feel unwell, especially with severe pain, I would return to the doctor to try and determine the reason. They may have you take another pregnancy test, just to be sure, but will look at other possibilities as well.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

You had a period, perhaps a bit non-normal, but it sounds like a period, three weeks ago, so if you are pregnant it would be, most likely from after that.

If there are two negative blood tests then that was a period, and at that point you are not pregnant,

So if you are, it is only from the last week or two.

There are 100's of reasons for a off month, some women even miss a month now and then. It sounds like time to look at other possibilities.
