I have an 85 Camry that all of a sudden would not start. Bought a new Battery and alternator and it was running great again for about 2 weeks and then would not start. Took the battery and alternator to the store and they both tested bad again and got new ones. I am wondering if there could be something shorting out the alternator? Or some kind of wiring issue and exactly where and what to look for.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you bought the alternator at a discount aout parts store that's the problem .They don't fully replace everything.I had an 86 vanwagon with same problem.Only way to fix correctly was buy a rebuilt alternator from toyota and get a new battery and you will be fine . When toyota remanufacturs there alternators everything is replaced so its esentially new.Yes it costs more but will get you back on the road driving

There's an old saying, "I'd rather apologize for price once, than quality twice."

And don't forget to insure all battery cable connections are cleaned and tightened.
