How to mend a broken heart?

Hello
Only time can do that unfortunately, though being around good friends and family who may have been through the same thing can help you move on.
I don't know how many days it's been since you have broken up ( I'am guessing this is a break up ) , though they can be rough.
Everyone is also different so for some they can get over it in one or two weeks , though for others in can take months or even years , this also depends on how long you were together and other factors.
Becareful if he/she wants to get back together with you as this can sometimes be poison to you, I mean it takes a lot to forgive and forget what happened last time you were together specially if he/she cheated on you.
Life is hard and through experience we learn.
Good Luck to you and I can say you will get better and move on.

Stay busy. Call friends. Go do that thing you've been wanting to do for a while. As time passes you will gain your confidence and strength back. It's okay not to feel 100% after a break up so accept that and don't punish yourself. Do not allow this person to have control over you. Only you should control how you feel.

If you read the Relationship Stickies (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/relationships/) I think you will see that not only time, but friends, family, and activities you enjoy can help you get through this heartbreak. Your broken heart will mend and be stronger after a proper healing, and if you break ALL contact with the heartbreaker... if you can. Healing is not painless though, as there is no way to avoid that. That's how most of us deal with our hearts being broken.
Why is your heart broken if I may ask?

How to mend a broken heart?
Duct-tape.
Seriously though. Nothing but time will help. You can distract yourself and concentrate on other things, but your mind will wander and drift back to the break up and the relationship. What is imporant here is that you take the time to feel and experience what emotions are coming your way. It is part of grieving the lost relationship. Understand that there are things that are meant to be and things that aren't. Know that you did what you did and you thought you were doing the best you could. A lot of times it isn't enough or just isn't right.
Don't push emotions away. Experience and move along.

The Bee Gee's sang all about it! Realize life moves on and you are one of many. Check with singles groups in your church or community, avoid most on line dating sites. Stay active, libraries, art shows, music. Friend of mine said the best place to meet singles was in the Supermarket at 5:30.

Jive Talking?
Whenever I had a breakup I would listen to sad love songs. So stoooopid. But in a way it was comfort. One I remember in particular - Klimaxx "I miss you" just tore me up during those times. But I survived as does everyone else.

A few jams and a bottle(s) of wine and a good friend(s) was how it was done in the day (The friends were there for the wine). We called them PITY PARTIES!
