In a character letter, you would be writing to show your support of why you think your daughter should gain custody of your grand-daughter. A simple sentence, such as, "I think she would be a good Mom" is not enough. Without knowing why your daughter does not have current custody, I can only say you need to explain your daughter's situation now - what she has done to improve herself, her way of living and how she can provide a safe and nurturing home for her daughter. If she was on drugs, is she drug free? Same for alcohol. You want to state facts. If she attended parenting classes, did what the courts told her to do in order to gain custody... things like that. Be honest, do not stretch the truth, and do not make up anything that you might think would help. Those things get found out.
Good luck to your daughter. Hoping it all turns out well for the sake of your grand-daughter.
