View Full Version : Flywheel slow and will not fully crank

I cannot get my mower to start . It tries to start the starter tries to spin the ly wheel but it just can't do it faswt enough . What can I do I even hooked it up to a battery charger and did a 50 amp car start but it just is like it has glue on it it is so slow. It is a murry with a 12.5 hp engine

If you are getting a full 12 (+) volts at the starter and the engine turns free normally then the starter is bad, you can open it up and try tu use some penetrant on it.

I had the same problem take the flywheel of look inside the flywheel you will see some magnets if any magnets are lose if there is any it will get jam on the armature and make the flywheel hard to turn or just turn part way.
