Dr. Bill... I had one strong bloody mary and one weak sex on the beach on Saturday night at 7:30pm. I took the EtG test on Monday night at 9:30pm. I am female, 5'5 and I weigh about 150lbs. I ate and drank normally on Sunday and went on a 2 mile walk. I was called in Monday after my group for an ETG test randomly. I did drink a lot of coffee, water and tea, I took a multi-vitamin and b12 and b6 at about 7pm on Monday. I am freaking out. It's Thursday and I still haven't heard back on my results. Will I pass, how long do these tests take to get back?

I have no idea where people get the idea taking all this stuff will change anything. It doesn't help you pass... ever. In fact they increase the chances you will fail. Because they change body chemistry that will cause an automatic fail. And a fail is a fail.

Your body processes it at the rate that's normal for your body... some people take longer than average, usually heavy drinkers due to permanent damage they have done.

At 48 hours... it probably going to be detected... if its above or below the standards they look for depends on what standard you are being tested for. Job related is the least stringent for most people. Parole or probation is the strictest.

Chances are at this point if you haven't heard anything you passed. Depends on the company. Most EtG/EtS tests are accurate to 60-80 hours after the consumption. The truth of the matter is that we can't know your body chemistry and how your metabolism works so it is impossible to say one way or another. After 2 days and that amount of alcohol, you have better then average chance of passing. There is still a chance you won't.

The bigger issue is whether your employment is in jeopardy if you test positive. What do you stand to lose if you fail? If you have signed a contract stating that you'll remain sober, why are you drinking? Staying sober is easier then stressing about these tests.

I still have not heard back on the results. This was done on Monday the 16th, it is now Monday the 23rd. Shouldn't they be back by now? I will probably get put detained for the weekend and get sanctioned. I know I should not have drank, its been well over a year. I am supposed to be off parole December 4th. I'm retarded I swear. Really bad move.

Yes normally results back in about 3 days, unless you fail.

You're not retarded. You've got poor impulse control and self control. Many people are like that. It isn't just you. Chances are you are fine if you haven't heard anything at this point. You got two weeks left. Don't F**K this up.

Thanks. No news is good news right? The stress that is involved is not worth it. Lost my appetite and asking Google gives me anxiety. I hope you're right, you would think if I failed my PO would call me in, I actually don't have another appointment scheduled, she told me the 19th was my last time I had to see her till I'm off.

I just though I should update, it has been exactly two weeks from today since I took my ETG test. I have not heard anything about the results, I have not asked for them either. I did however see my PO when I stopped in to get my travel permit to leave the state for Thanksgiving. She was super nice, wished me a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels. I obviously passed. I am off parole in 4 days. Was it worth it? NO.
