There are a lot of things recently brought to light about women and heart disease.

Heart disease is often thought about as a man's disease, but recent studies show that heart disease is actually the number one killer of women in America.

My 62 yr. old neighbor died 1 week ago from a heart attack. My mother was 96 when she died, after 3 heart attacks.

People of all ages have heart attacks. Some die, some don't. Why do you ask?

I happened on a blog for women who have had heart attacks. It was fascinating!
The main thing worth mentioning:
ER docs are notorious for sending women home with a Xanex or Ativan, because a common symptom is a panic feeling. Some EMTs have even had to strongly protest to doctors who just don't know that women's symptoms are usually very different from men's. And pain down the arm isn't always the left arm! Many other differences. If you want me to try to find the site, I will.

I am 68 and have HBP. I get 'squeezes' right smack in the middle of my chest, high up, between the clavicles. Strangest feeling. But I don't get weak dizzy or faint or short of breath, so that's it for now.
