Installed a harbor breeze outdoor ceiling fan with light. Didn't like the light so bought a new one. It has its own light chain as does the outdoor fan. Cannot get the light to work. Tired couple different options and cant get the light to work at all. What do I do to get it to work.

The old light had a wire, typically blue. With the new light, the blue should connect to the hot of the new switch, blue or black. I would wire directly to the old light and bypass the new light switch. I don't know what you tried or how you didi it but it really is simple, bypass one or the other.
