I have a Dlink modem of the following model:

DATA/FAX/VOICE MODEM

DFM-560E 56000bps Data/Fax/Voice

Data : K56Flex/ITU-T V.90 & ITU-T V.34 MNP 4/5 & V.42/V.42 bis

Fax : G3 14.4 K Send/Receive

Power : AC 9V/1A

S/N: 1M5Q5406E

When I give power supply to my modem, the PWR lights on but the MR light continues to blink at the rate of 5sec ON and 1sec OFF.When I give a query command it displays : there is hardware failure :
When I give a dial, no dialing occurs and it says modem failure.

All these suggest there is a hardware problem in my modem. Can you suggest what can be faulty in my modem and how can I repair it myself.

You might try reinstalling any drivers for it.. I assume you're using some form Windows.
