Depending on how the term is used, and the location

1. A field office is any location in a area that is not the main office. So reports generated by those offices and sent to the main probation office are field reports.

2. A report by an investigator outside a office, example would be a home visit or a visit to a work place or interviews (or reports) from people who know the person on probation) are reports done in the field, and can also be termed field reports.

Thus, In this case, there has been a violation of probation that was found, or reported, and this report has been sent to the main probation office.

One can assume, that if this report is found or deemed valid then the probation will be revoked and the person on probation will have to go in front of the judge to explain such violation.
