Hello everyone My question I have a 1991 double wide mobile home all the electrical outlets and light switches are what's called one piece outlet and plate cover. I have included a photo I found on the internet. My question is are these still legal to use and will they pass inspection. Thank you in advance.

Yes they are legal.

will they pass inspection.
What kind of inspection are you referring to?

It's called an "Old Work" box. The ear tabs should be extended out so they grab the wall. The screws on the cover plate should pull the tabs against the wall. They are readily replaceable with a 2 piece box and cover if you can't tighten the old box.

Disagree Brian. Those are a specific type of outlet and switch used in mobile homes.
Called self contained. Do not require a box. Great for narrow or thin walls.

I know what Harold is talking about but I also see the old work box ears in the first picture. The ears allow installing a box when not stud is available or close for mounting.

The inspection is because it is a home on my property that a tree had come down and took the over head wire out and pulled the pole over the electric company came along and cut there wire to the pole why I'm not sure since the power wasn't even on to the home. But in order to get power turned back on I have to put the pole back upright and then they will come and hook there wire back up but because of the pole being pulled down they say I have to have it inspected when its all done before they will turn the power back on. I'm not sure just how far they will go with the inspection if its just the pole or if it's the whole house. Oh and there hasn't been power to the home in 4 years so that could be maybe the reason for the inspection. But thank you for the info on the outlets

Any idea why they ever changed these? The ones I have here in the picture seem to work a lot better and in my opinion seem safer

They will most likely not inspect anything other than the pole and the panel.

Inspection will be limited to the service entrance equipment.

As far as I know they are still being used, both in new mobile homes and as replacements.
