Hello:
I've always been of the belief that people are sent to prison AS punishment - not FOR punishment... Irrespective of what I believe, that AIN'T the way it is..
Additionally, I've always been of the belief that sanctions were put on a country to BRING them to the negotiating table - NOT for punishment... But, that ain't what others believe..
I've always been of the belief that traffic tickets were issued as a form of punishment - NOT to raise revenue... But, that ain't happening either...
It used to be that cops wanted to stop drugs because they were bad.. Now, they just want the MONEY they seize.
Is things backwards??

Trump is the perfect representation of the reality tV and selfie generation .
But don't worry about his carnie side show . He will flame out when the Repubics realize that he has more in common with Bernie Sanders and Evita than with any conservative . I think he is a trojan horse sent by Bubba .
I've always been of the belief that sanctions were put on a country to BRING them to the negotiating table - NOT for punishment... But, that ain't what others believe..
Read all the UN sanctions that were slapped on Iran .They were put in place because Iran ROUTINELY violates terms of agreements already in place.

Tom we must move on, Iran has said to you we are doing it our way and you don't like it, so stop this recalicant diatribe and focus on more important things like what will the Donald say next, who will he offend or who will he not offend? It is certainly backwards when a politician can gain favour by offending everyone and making sure he is by telling you he is not in favour of your sacrosanct political correctmess. Will Donald actually say there is a black man in the white house? He is in favour of big fences and big hairdo's, big mouths and big ego's but what is he against? mexican's? women? education?

Trump is the perfect self absorbed liberal . The conservatives don't know that yet . Why is he doing so good ? Because the rest of the field is fragmented ,and no one has demanded that he explain his contradictory positions . When Rick Perry made one gaffe in 2012 it destroyed his campaign . When John Dean made an emotional whoop of joy ,his candidacy went down the tubes .When Kerry made one flip-flop in 2004 ,the Repubics were all over that . Trump in a short time went from a Dem to a Repub. from a defender of amnesty to a border hard liners ;from supporting universal health care to an ambiguous position on health care ,from being "pro-choice " to pro-life ,from being in favor of a ban on "assault rifles " to opposing a ban ,from supporting Evita Clintoon to (wink wink nod nod ) opposing her . and on and on .... wanting higher taxes ,legalizing drugs .He doesn't want to make fundamental changes in entitlements . It really boggles my mind that he is being taken seriously by conservatives .
Trump is also very much the media's favorite candidate . Where is the post debate discussions about the policy ideas of the candidates ? I'm sick of the non-stop discussion on all the news outlets about a single question in 2 debates.

Regarding things that are backwards ; The EPA "accidently " spilled 3 million gallons of toxic waste into the Animus River in Colorado turning the whole river carrot orange and yellow .
EPA crew accidentally turns Animas River orange - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/07/us/colorado-epa-mine-river-spill-irpt/)
The spill, which sent heavy metals, arsenic and other contaminants into the river that flows into the San Juan National Forest, occurred Wednesday. The EPA initially said 1 million gallons of wastewater had been released, but that figure has risen sharply.
That's right the Environmental PROTECTION Agency spilled the sludge into the river .THE REGULATORS CAUSED THE SPILL!
The spill has moved through the state into New Mexico where it is now possibly permanently contaminating the drinking water of the Navaho nation .
If this was BP or Exxon Mobile ,or the Koch Brothers this story would be front page news and the lead story on every news source for weeks and months . But since it's an EPA screw up ;crickets chirping .
Want to know what causes more environmental damage ......fracking ,or the EPA ? Now you know . Here is the EPA's initial statement downplaying the event .

They have since revised their statements as the facts have become public knowledge .

Here is the EPAs report on the effect of fracking on drinking water .

the EPA has found no signs of “widespread, systemic” drinking water pollution from hydraulic fracturing.

Yes you have to ask why the EPA was hands on instead of just inspection, fine and condemn? You have just discovered that fracking causes environment damage after months of telling how good fracking is for your local economy, now that's backwards

This wasn't fracking .Fracking does not damage water supplies . The EPA report says that ,not the industry .We have decades of data on that .
This was an old mine that had some waste water dammed up . The problem was that the EPA decided to become the Army Corp of Engineers and started playing with heavy equipment they had no business operating .
This is now a week old . The spill is now 3 million gallons ;not the 1 million originally reported . It is now approaching a reservoir that provides potable water for 4 states ;and it is running through the Navaho nation .
Again ;if this was the Koch brothers it would've been the front page story all week. The EPA is downplaying it making the false claim that the heavy metals spilled will dillute . Nope ,they will settle to the bottom of the river permanently until a massive clean up /dredging type of solution is implemented .

You raised the issue of fracking Tom, not me "Here is the EPAs report on the effect of fracking on drinking water" where I come from they are shutting down these operations because of ground water contamination
