I have a board issue on:
FCC-1A
40403001
9738

The resistor on the board shorted out. There was another question answered back in 2010 that has a photo of the exact board that I have with the same piece that is burnt.

Can I just replace this resistor or do I have to change the whole board? If I can change the resistor how do I know which to get.

Can I just replace that piece or do I need to replace the whole board.

Thanks

Reading the posts on your attachment pretty much gives you the answer. Looks like a 2 watt, 620 Ohm. See "Maslan's" post. However, If you have never soldered you need to read up on the practice as there are different types of flux. PC boards are very susceptible to heat and you need some type of heat sink too.
