Hi,
I have photo cells I need to attach to my outside light fixtures. I wired the new fixtures with no problems, and now want to connect photo cells to them. The wires in the wall box are black and white, as are the fixture wires. The photo cells have black, white, and red. How should I connect the wires to get the photo cell to work properly? The wires on the photo cell are labeled:
Load (Red), Neut (White), and Line (Black)
I don't know if it's the make, but it says "Photo Controls" and has these codes on it:
AS-10 10A (for 10 Amps, yes?) AC/DC 12V 10A

No other markings or labels or names are on the photo cell sticker.

Thank you.

Connect the house white, the fixture white and photo cell white together.
Connect the house black to the photo cell black.
Connect the fixture black to the photo cell red.

AS-10 10A (for 10 Amps, yes?) AC/DC 12V 10A

That is a low voltage photo cell, only 12 volts. Unless this is for something like low voltage landscaping lights on a transformer, you have a problem. Your house current is 120 volts. Could you be misreading the voltage?

Thanks for the wiring help! But yes, that's the correct labeling on the photo cell... so I guess I need to get ones for 120 then, right?

Yes, you will.
But the wiring described to you earlier will still apply.
