The proper way to fix this "Suds Error" problem is to repair the circuit board. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAIj2itkE6U (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/Whirlpool%20Duet%20Washer%20F35%20repair.mp4)
Many products have been affected by defective capacitors from Taiwan when someone stole what they thought was the total formula for the electrolyte material for capacitors from Japan where they have the lock on high-quality capacitors. Unfortunately, the thief did not get the last steps and since the late 1980's millions of electronic devices have failed as a result. You will see swollen capacitors and burned circuit boards many times, but at times you will see nothing until you use a meter, and at other times even a meter will not be able to detect the problem. You just have to replace them at times. The capacitors are 2200 micro-farad (uf) 10 or 16 DC volts and they are polarized (With a + and -.) and cost about 50 cents each. You can go 16 volts (Better) on voltage, but not lower. You will probably notice that the old capacitors have a "domed" top from swelling. Any capacitor you see like that is bad. The voltage rating is how high the voltage can be before arcing occurs inside and ruining the capacitor.
