Have a well 490 ft deep . It is protected by a PumpTec system. Water ran for about 3 minutes and then stopped. PSI down to 10. The pressure switch is making contact.
When switch is manually opened and allowed to close, PumpTec makes a growling hum for about 4 seconds and then stops.

Have shut off water a house to see if I have a leak I don't see. Did not hear water pumping up from well.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Chuck

Crea, just noticed this is from you.

I am not familiar with these, but found some info about Pump Tec here: Pumptec will protect your pump from running dry. (http://www.deanbennett.com/pumptec-well-protection.htm)

This system, once it shuts the pump down (protection mode), can be reset, according to that site, by shutting off the power for 5 seconds. You might try that. It is, of course, possible that your pump is running short of water and the pump tec system is shutting it down, but you should be able to reset it.

Might want to call the pump tec folks. This site has a number that would be a good place to start.
