Just bought a portable dishwasher, hooked it up and water
Started spraying out of the side of my faucet. I'm going to
Buy a new faucet but does it need to be able to tolerate a certain amount of pressure? I've seen a new faucet for $35 jt says it handles 2.2 home

Don't know what that means. You need to be a little more specific if you want to repair. Any faucet should withstand the water pressure.

If you are smart you will purchase a Moen.
jt says it handles 2.2.
That is the volume, not the pressure, 2.2 gallons per minute.
Moen is warrantied for life, easy to install and easy to repair.

Where was the leak ? Around the tip of the faucet, where you attached the DW hose or from the body of the faucet ? Just about any kitchen faucet will handle DW attached to it. Of course, the cheaper you go, the less quality you will deal with. Agree with Harold - Moen is very good product. If you can afford it, purchase faucet in price range $75.00 - $100.00.
