Definitions of virginity are timeless in their variation. In many cultures, you lose it when your hymen breaks. But it can break on it's own, with no sexual contact at all, or even penetration with an object.
So in cultures where it matters a lot, this is why daughters are watched closely.

If you had sex you are not a virgin... just own up to reality and stop trying to convince yourself otherwise. If virginity was actually important to you , then you would not have had sex at all. Pretending otherwise makes you a liar, not a virgin.

If you want to, go ahead. No one else will normally. Anytime, it enters, even a little, you are not a virgin any longer. It does not have to be deep.
