My wife is currently unemployed and prepping for kids. What if as a collective we came up with some ideas for home based income producing activities? There are enough people on this site that we could work as some sort of "Online collaboration". I guess if you had ideas yourself you wouldn't be in this section I would be buying your video on How-To-Make a million from home but its worth throwing it out there.

It's a ponzi scheme. Sadly you run out of victum.. umm people very fast. Do the math, shortly there are not enough people in the world for your business to work. Only the first few people in will ever see anything. Save your money..

The most effective way to make a lot of money is to write a book entitled "How To Make A Lot Of Money."

In all seriousness, anybody who has an idea for making money does one of three things: They put it into action themselves, they put it off and forget about it, or they tell somebody else who puts it into action without giving the creator anything for the idea. Most of the time, it's this third one that ends up being the case.

Rules to follow to avoid losing your shirt in the entrepreneurial world:
1) Don't trust anybody with anything.
2) Get everything in writing. EVERYTHING.
3) Never disclose your idea without plenty of lawyers, signed non-disclosure agreements, recording devices, and enough high level people at the company you're pitching to that they can never claim any kind of plausible deniability when they rip your idea off next month.
4) Don't advertise until your product is ready for market. You'll get beat to market by somebody with more resources, and then you're just another also-ran.
5) Never pay for anything that you don't understand, can't see, or can't turn around and resell.
6) Never buy anything that isn't going to help make you money.
7) Don't sit on an idea for longer than you have to. Somebody else will get that same epiphany too, and they may be able to move faster than you. Good ideas are not unique.

It would help to know what your wife's skills are and what she would want to do in order to answer the question.

What are her skills and interests?

I can think of a few things that someone, particularly a woman, might want to do out of their home, if they know how to do them.

Sewing service, doll making, ironing service, sell Mary Kay or Avon products, make children's clothing, babysitting, sell tupperware, etc.

I do know that once you have decided on what you are going to do for a business that you will need to advertise for it.

Here are some ideas:

Hang your small "shingle" out wherever you see a public bulletin board where business advertising can be placed. Grocery stores, quick mart type places, bowling alleys, etc. Make your shingle small, but neat and colorful. You will use less paper this way and also ink, if you are going to be using a printer.

Always carry business cards with you and bring up your business, product or service in casual conversation.

Advertise in the business section of your local phone book, newspaper or other media.

In case you may want to get some free advertising for your business, please read the following:

Advertising on the Internet does not have to cost a cent. I have been doing it for over two years. I have hundreds of ads on the Internet. They are all free. I get the most results from my Internet advertising. More so than from my Yellow Page ads in the local phone book. Although, ads in the Yellow Pages are still necessary because of some people who do not have a computer, or if they do have a computer, are not on the Internet. The Yellow Pages are probably the first place that most people are going to look for services in their local area.

In a Google search, try typing in Quad Cities Piano Tuner, Piano Tuning Quad Cities, Piano Lessons Quad Cities, Handyman Quad Cities, Quad Cities Wedding Musician, Clough Quad Cities, and see what happens. Almost everything that you see on the first three or four pages will be my ads. And, these are not the only things that I advertise for in the Quad Cities. I live in Rock Island, IL which is part of Iowa - Illinois Quad Cities. If you look at any of my ads you will know how to word yours. Keywords are essential to bring people to your ads. The sites where you see my ads are the sites that work the best for free. Have tried many others, and some of them don't get good exposure at all in general searches on the Internet. But, your ads would only get results if you know on which site to search for your business, product or service.

This site gets excellent coverage in Google, but it is not to be used by the members for advertising. Because of words that I have already typed in this message to you, if people are looking for the things that I have described, such as "free advertising for your business", this message will start to show up in searches, not only on Google, but in other search engines.

This has all just been a way to demonstrate to you the power of advertising easily and for free on the Internet.

I hope that it has been helpful to you! If you need anymore information, please let me know. I would be glad to help!
