I have a harbor breeze ceiling fan with a six speed remote control. The only way to control the ceiling fan is from the remote control. I have power to the ceiling fan because the light works. I changed the battery in the remote control. When I press the buttons the red light comes on indicating that the remote is working but the ceiling fan will not come on. I have lost the owners manual.can anybody help with the problem.

The first thing you need to do is get up to the fan, open the canopy and find the white and black wire after the receiver. Put a tester on the white and black and tell me if you get 120vac off them.
