Hi. I've been wondering if I'm pregnant I had my last normal menstruation last march 21 and had unprotected intercourse on march 28. After a week I feel sick and almost tired though I had lots of sleep and feel hungry for certain foods. My appetite really changed and it's a weird feeling I know it is not normal for me. After a week I had a very sore and tender breast that lasted, I think, about a week. I expected my period would be on April 18 or 19 but on April 15 when I went to cr I wiped only a spot of brown blood then I wiped again, then the was a pink blood. I thought that was my period going to start but its confusing cause its too early to be my period. But I put a pantyliner anyway. The following morning I expected it to be heavy but instead it was just a spot and light bleeding lasted only for 2 1/2 days. The blood almost no clots and odor and I did not feel any pain that I usually feel when I am having a period. My friends said it must be implantation bleeding. I searched in on many website and aome of symptoms are what I am experiencing now. So I had a 3 pregnancy test the first one was during that spotting days, negative. The second one was 2 days after the spotting started, negative. The other one was today, 2 days after expected period, also negative. Is this from pregnancy? Its my first time to experience this so its so confusing. Did I just tested too early? Please help me answer this. Thanks!

Give it a bit more time to see if your period shows up late. Testing right around suspected implantation would be too early. It takes longer for the hormone levels to be high enough to get picked up even on a very sensitive test.

It could have been implantation bleeding; happens for some women, but it could also be just an off cycle or midcycle spotting due to a shift in hormone level, even if it has never happened before.

Thank you sir for answering my question. But, is the off cycle or midcycle spotting cause unusual tiredness and food cravings?

Hormone changes, which can alter your cycle, can result in both unusual tiredness and food cravings. Hope it all turns out how you would like it to.

Can anyone knows the difference of implantation bleeding and ovulation bleeding? I had spotting 4 days before my expected period and lasted only for 2 1/2 days. Could it be just an ovulation or midcycle bleeding?

It could be any of the three possibilities or just an off cycle. You'll need to give it several more days, then try another pregnancy test if still no period. If it's negative, either wait a bit longer and test again at home, or you could see your doctor and test there. Good luck!

If you find next month, that you are pregnant it was implantation. That is about the only way to know. There can be many reasons, so no way to really tell at this point

I see two questions were merged... If the cycle is due now, then wait about 2 weeks to do the pregnancy test. Be sure and do it, with first urine of the morning, as soon as you wake up.

Thank you for your helpful info. But I'm wondering if off cycle or the so called mid cycle bleeding occurs a few days before expected period? Is it possible? Because some of the articles I read, they said that mid cycle bleeding occurs 2 weeks before the next period while implantation happens 2-7 days before expected period.

Mid-cycle spotting or bleeding can refer to anytime in your cycle that is not your period. Hormone changes may change at various times for a variety of reasons... sometimes predictable, sometimes not.

If you go with averages, ovulation occurs about 12-16 days before a period is due. If fertilized, the egg will implant about 6-12 days later. However, not everyone follows the norm... some will experience these things sooner, some later in a cycle, hence an average.

Certainly the spotting you experienced could be from implantation, but since other possibilities are also to be considered, you'll have to wait and see what happens with your period and with further testing.

Hopefully you are pregnant, I know how hopeful it can be when you are trying. If it hasn't happened this cycle, hopefully you won't have to try too much longer.
