I have a 2006 honda CRV. It has 233000km on odometer. Vehicle shutters or washboards between 60-80kmph. Like driving over a small bumpy road. When I take my foot of the gas it stops shuttering immediately.I just changed my winter tires over to summer tires. Had them balanced.Had the whole front end checked. Everything OK. The winter tires need to be replaced because they now have a wave pattern on the treads. Front brakes have been serviced. What should I check next?

Check your automatic transmission's fluid level and condition. Make sure the fluid is pink, not brown, and no burnt smell. The wrong transmission fluid can cause the transmission to shutter. Your transmission likely requires Honda ATF-Z1. The fluid should be changed every 50,000 kilometers or 3 years, whichever comes first. Weird tread design can really be problematic, too.

Thanks for your advice,I will change transmission fluid and see if shuttering goes away.

I had to change transmission fluid, then run it through the gears, then repeat flush. Fluid was a brown color no smell. I drove the CRV everywhere highway city shutter has completely gone away. Thanks TXGreaseMonkey your advice was right on.

God bless you

Good job--you just saved your transmission.
