Could be peri menopause, which can start years before actual menopause. Since you have a pattern of later than usual positives on pregnancy tests, it wouldn't hurt to see your doctor and ask about having a blood test. Pregnancy may not be as likely at 44, but it still happens.

I agree with DoulaC. I am also 44 years old, and I haven't had a period in almost 3 years now, before that they were sporadic, once every few months. When I was younger they were like clockwork.

Perimenopause can happen very quickly. One minute you're regular, the next you don't have a period for a year.

Sadly we can't diagnose online. Pregnancy is possible at 44, and so is perimenopause, or many other things that could be causing you to miss your period.

Best to talk to your doctor at this point.
