I have an old Bryant, installed in 1986. It was working, now it's not.
... I have taken off both the top and lower door. The beige knob in the upper compartment is turned to ON. I push the white long button in the lower compartment and hold it in: the ignition lights and a small flame is there. I continue to hold it for about a minute or so, and lots of flames come on, then the fan comes on and the heat comes into the house. As soon as I stop pushing the long white button in the lower compartment, everything stops... no more fan or flames.
There must be a step I am missing?
