I need a document stating that I have worked for the company for certain period and for certain job. Is there any legislation saying that this kind of statement should be given to me and is there any time limits how long that should take?

There's no law that requires your employer or ex employer to write or create such a document.

Why do you need this in writing? Most companies will just call the prior employer for verification.
