HELP

I have snaked 2 sides of our sink; one with a garbage disposal and the one without. Water still backs up and fills both sinks, but after 10 minutes, does eventually drain out through the Y joint in the wall.

BUT -- there are 3 existing problems:

ONE the y joint is half buried and plastered over in the wall by the last contractors that botched this job. You couldn't replace the joint unless you broke the plaster.

TWO when I snaked, the snake didn't go through the y joint: it hit a metal screen of some sort that turned it around and led it towards the other sink. I can't get to any debris behind the wall this way

THREE when I walked outside to see if there was a trap opening in the kitchen brick wall, I saw a plugged cap flush with the wall. It looks like it is rusted for many years, and I don't know how to open it.

What now? Is this solely the job of a plumber? Or can I do something more? I don't have money for a plumber. My landlord is a slumlord and this is his mother's old house. I live in fear of being sued for some plumbing bill I cannot already afford.

I included the tools I used because I knew the y joint juncture would be small.
I did not include photo of the wall outside the house where the rusted pipe cap is.
We've had problems with the bathtub drain getting clogged every 2 weeks since January.
Part of the house foundation swelled up in the front hall and loosened a big tile also.
Owner of the house has not paid attention to fixing that problem.
My friends say sounds like piping is being affected all at once by a problem like tree roots growing in...
