I have 2 whites, 2 blacks, 2 reds and 1 copper coming from the ceiling box. I did not take a picture when I disconnected the old ceiling fan since it was the last from 5 rooms I was doing. (But the only one that has an extra black and red.)
So I have connected the 2 whites to the white, the copper to the greens, the 2 blacks from ceiling to the black that read motor, and the 2 red to the blue that reads light.
My wall has 2 switch one turns the light the other the fan. Right now I have no light to the light fixtures on the ceiling fan. But if I turn on the other switch the fan does start.
What I do remember is that there were many wires with caps which I thought it was odd but didn't think it was a problem.
Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help.

Does that mean you have two switches, side by side in the same box with one switch controlling the fan and the other controlling the light?
But if I turn on the other switch the fan does start.
Does that mean you have another switch (a third switch) on another wall?

You are certain there are no otherswitches in or near his room that could control the light or the fan? Those two red could indicate that you might have another switch. I do not think you have an extra black and an extra red, I think you have two extra reds. Try one black to blue, one black to black and all whites to white and see if you have control of both the light and the fan.

The switches are only at the entrance of the room side by side in the sam box. I do not have any other switch anywhere in the room.

I do have 2 switches side by side, and one use to turn the light on and the other one the fan.

No the only switch is at the entrance of the bedroom.

I am sure there are no other switches in the bedroom. I will try that today.

So you have two and only two cables in the ceiling box. Each cable has a black, white and red wire, and a bare ground wire.
You have two switches in the same box on the wall. There are no other switches in the room.
Is that correct?
If so, pull the switches from the box, do not disconnect any wires.
Describe the switches. Do they have two terminal screws or three?
Describe the wiring. How many cables and the wires in each cable.
Describe the wiring connections.
Do you have a multimeter?
