We recently purchased a new house and we bought a washer, steam dryer, and a utility sink. Our laundry area is fairly small, with only one water source. I know if we only had a washer and steam dryer, we could use a Y connector with no problem. We asked the washer/dryer salesman at Lowe's and he said there's no such thing as a three-way connector. So my husband wants to connect a Y connector on a Y connector in order to get water to the washer, steam dryer, and utility sink. Will that be a problem?

Yes, they sell all kind of connectors. Since Lowe's person didn't want to deal with it, you will have to hire a professional to do it for you. This is how it is done:
Close water, remove existing sink angle stops, install "T", one on Hot, one on Cold water pipe. On one end of the "T", you will reinstall old angle stop ( for sink ) and on the other end of the "T" you will install second angle stop that will be 1/2" IP x 7/8" BC ( to accept washer hose ).
This way , you will have two individual points of connection for both sink and washer and dryer.
Hope that helps
