I'm trying to get pregnant for 2 months now . We've tried the calendar method. We've been having sex during my ovulation and my fertile days. Is this normal? What should I do?

Two months is but a drop in the bucket, it's only two cycles. It takes the average healthy couple up to a year or more of actively trying before conception occurs.

The he basal body temperature is the most accurate way to determine ovulation. To find your pattern can take six months or more.

Thank you this have been very helpful. I taught we have been losing hope. Every time I get my period he gets so depressed.

Tell your husband he should relax and enjoy trying as it takes as long as it takes.

No need to lose hope after only to months. It takes many couples a year or more of trying. For now, enjoy practicing! ;)

As the others said, two months is no time at all. It only becomes a potential issue if you go more than a year with no results. Try to enjoy the process... stress can negatively affect fertility.

By using the calendar, you're not necessarily tracking ovulation accurately. Look into "Basal Body Temperature" in order to accurately predict your fertile times. Just going off the standard 28-30 day cycles doesn't necessarily work for everyone. You could also make a "preconception appointment" with your OB/GYN to discuss these things.

Relaxing is a key issue. My wife and I took 6 years to conceive. We had been seeing a well know specialist, but it was a trip to get to him. So after a few years without success we decided to switch to a new specialist closer to home. It was a couple of months before we could get an appt. So my wife relaxed thinking nothing would happen until after we saw the new guy. Well at the appt we found out she was pregnant. So we know that putting stress on yourselves to conceive can be counter productive.

It IS possible that either one or both of you have fertility issues. But most fertility specialists won't even see you until you have been trying for about a year.
