So I am 15, and my boyfriend of almost 6 months turned 18 two days ago. Both of our parents are okay with us dating. He and I have NOT had sex, as we both want to wait for marriage. The farthest we've gone is kissing. However, today, he told me that his mom saw us kiss after church last night, which I figured was no big deal. Turns out they've (his parents) decided that he is not allowed to kiss me, because they are perturbed by the age gap. **I should add that he has no intention of going behind his parents backs or disobeying, and I am in full agreement with that. I wouldn't dream of asking that of him.** How do I handle this? Is 2 years and nine months really that big of a deal?

Legally it is. Legally he's an adult, and you're a child. Any sexual contact between you two (and that includes kissing) could cause him a lot of trouble.

I think it's great that you're both in no hurry to have sex. For me kissing isn't a big deal, but I have to say, if my son were 18, dating a 15 year old, I'd be concerned too. I don't want him winding up in jail and having to live his life as a registered sex offender, and that could happen.

When he is 30 and you are 27, no issue, but at 15 and 18, it is the ages, not the years difference. It deals with adult and child description legally. Also, his parents are most likely concerned that kissing may lead to more, little by little.

So you can not kiss ? It sounds like you can still date, go out, be together, you use this time to get to know each other

So they have imposed new boundaries on this relationship, obey them and be grateful you are still allowed to date. Yes it is a big deal an 18 year old, and a 15 year old kissing!

It's a big deal when he is 18 and you are 15. It's illegal. His parents know kissing can very well lead to other things which could be trouble. It would concern me.
