I bought what I know is a cheap replacement faucet. It was supposed to be temporary because we're about to do a redo in a couple of months. The other day while doing the dishes, the spout completely came off. I unscrewed the ring holding it from the base. I didn't see any o-rings of anything else in there. I pushed the spout back into the ring put it back into the hole on the faucet base and screwed down the ring. It just popped right back off when the water pressure went beyond a certain point. I have no idea what to do with it. I tried to tape it into place using some water resistant tape. That held to the end of the spout, but it didn't prevent the spout from coming out again when the water pressure went beyond a certain point. I was wondering if something is missing that would hold the spout in place? I didn't see any parts fall out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please tell us the brand and the model number of your faucet, also you may have warranty on it just return it back to the store where you bought it they will give you a replacement for it, Thanks.

Thanks for responding. Westbrass NM2K-26 2-Handle Kitchen Faucet in Polished Chrome is the model. I wanted to see if there was an easy way to resolve it before having to take it back. If it was as simple as adding an o-ring or tightening something then it would be worth it.

Try wrapping a couple wraps of Teflon tape around the threads of the shank that the nut tightens down too... see if that helps here... it should.

Certainly sounds like you have stripped threads, but it's a 20 dollar throwaway, so return it, and be done with it.

Thanks for the advice. Mark, I wrapped the Teflon and so far so good. Hopefully, it'll last until we're ready to remodel. If not, as you've all said I can take it back and get another one to carry us through the couple of months.
