I've missed my period and did double dose my pills a couple times last month. It's time to start my new pill pack and I have taken two HPT and both are negative. I know with a previous ectopic my chances are higher of a second and I did lose a tube. I understand that hcg levels may not be detected in a HPT if ectopic, I'm very scared I may have a second ectopic and I don't have insurance. Should I wait this out or go to an ER with a free clinic?

Often the hcg level will be enough to be detected with a sensitive HPT. One common factor associated with an ectopic pregnancy is a slow rise in hcg levels. Even if you missed a couple of pills, but then doubled up the next day, odds are good that you wouldn't become pregnant. The doubling up could be what caused the missed period.
To ease your mind, you could contact your local health department, a pregnancy center, or even your doctor simply to see what a blood test would cost. They often will use a sliding scale or perhaps set up payments if you can't afford to pay the cost all at once.

Not that familiar with US healthcare, in Canada a blood test is free, as is a doctors visit. Having said that, I'll add that planned parenthood may also be the way to go. I'm not entirely sure what services they provide, but I'd check into it and find one near you, they may be able to help.
