I'm 14 and have never had my period , I have all the puberty factors except for my period and only ever gotten white, clear or light yellow discharge.

About for days again I noticed light brown mixed with my usual discharge, then after that I put on fresh underwear and ever since I have been getting golden tan light brown liquid discharge stuff and it's up to the 4th day and is becoming heavier (but still pretty light) and a smudge darker. All other discharge has stopped I have been a little bloated today and had small hardly noticeable back pain and cramps but nothing bad. I don't know what this is. Is it my first period? Or is it something else? Did this ever happen to you? What is it? If it isn't my first period how long after will I get my first period? Thanks :)

It sounds like your first period. The menstrual tissue and blood can be many shades of red and brown and pink. If watery or mixed with other discharges that are clear, it will be light shades. If fresh, it will be bright red. If old-ish, it will be shades of brown, having been exposed to air and oxidation. Don't worry. Get some tampons and figure them out or ask mom or a friend. Many women wear mini-pads too. I preferred a folded paper towel because the glue on the mini-pads always stuck to my hair.

There are harmless other discharges that lubricate, and are clear, and there are also unwanted discharges that need treatment. The most common is a yeast infection, usually looking like cottage cheese, and often very itchy, and can be treated with products like Monistat. A urinary tract infection (UTI) just hurts, without discharge, and needs antibiotics from a doctor.

Another is trich (pronounced trick), which is mostly green, or yellow green, and thick, but that's a STD. Do a search of STDs just to learn about them for the future and for general knowlege about your body.
