I'm a full time student in Ohio and worked all year in Ohio. I'm a legal resident of Massachusetts. I did not work in Massachusetts. Do I need to file taxes in both States?

Yes, you do. ANY state of residence almost ALWAYS requires their citizens to file and declare income earned in other states.

However, they also give you a tax credit for the taxes paid in the state where you worked, and that will reduce the taxes owed to Massachusetts.

Why not just make your primary residence in Ohio for last year? Unless you want to vote in MA, or have a property benefit.

Joy,

Not sure this applies for Ohio, but some states specifically prohibit out-of-state students from establishing residency while attending college, principally so the state colleges can charge MUCH higher out-of-state tuition rates.
