I have a new 52" Hampton bay ceiling fan. It seems to have a mind of its own. 1st off, the lights are really dim and then at times, the lights turn on and off during operation. The lamps that are installed are 3) 40w bulbs. I have read that you cannot exceed 190w total so I'm within the limit. Is there a way of bypassing the wattage limiter? Because after reading similar problems with this fan, I have a reason to believe the wattage limiter is the biggest problem on this fan. Thoughts?

Chances are that this is a remote controlled fan/light.
Chances are that one of your neighbors has the same fan/light and is using the same radio frequency.
Read the owners manual to see if you can change the frequency.
Otherwise the receiver is defective

Apparently I was wrong (again) and there is such a thing as a wattage limiter.

The video though shows one thing I totally disagree with and that's depending on the light switch to cut off the power (though it does). I strongly recommend the power be shut off from the breaker switch in the interest of safety.

Yes I have seen some dangerous jury rigged wiring in my time, especially in older homes.
