For the past couple years I've been dealing with high anxiety and go through phases where I am so nauseous that I vomit when I eat or feel extremely sick even after drinking water. I'm hungry and usually want to eat but can't. Days without eating causes me lose 20-30lbs within 1-2 months.
I went off my anti-depressant/anxiolytic about 2.5 months ago because I was having to take it on an empty stomach which caused vomiting. I'm also not pregnant, do not have a Helicobacter pylori infection or stomach ulcer and all blood work faithfully comes back normal.
I do have a family history of peptic ulcers and am taking a proton pump inhibitor, so acidity isn't the problem. I drink tea to help myself relax, as well as other at-home anti-anxiety methods. Nothing is working.
My family doctor is on holidays for another 3 weeks and I have an extremely important certification exam to study for (6 hour duration) before he returns. Any ideas of medication that a walk-in doctor could prescribe (they do not write prescriptions for narcotics so Xanax is out of the question) or other methods of decreasing very high anxiety levels?
