I am living in canada and I've been charged with shoplifting and I am under 18. Should I tell my boss at work about this?

While you may not be legally required to disclose your arrest, you will be legally obligated to disclose your conviction of the crime if you are sentenced to court. Depending on your job - being up front and honest may be the best policy.

If your job is connected to handling cash, or is in retail, you should definitely tell your boss about it. You may be let go, or have your duties changed.

Otherwise I would not disclose your arrest. If you get off lucky and it doesn't go to court for some reason, it can stay your secret - just learn the lesson and don't make the same mistake again.

You are under 18, you are just a kid.

Don't make this harder on yourself by telling your boss.

I mean, if you think your boss is cool enough to deal with that, go for it, but I wouldn't.

Just talk to your parents, get a lawyer and deal with this.

And NEVER steal again.

Also be happy that you were lucky enough that you are under 18 still.
