Asalamwalaikum,

I recently came to know that vanilla essence which is used in cakes, chocolates, ice-creams, etc. contains alcohol as its key ingredient.

So my question is - is it haram to have all of these items as they are liked a lot by children's as well.

Also, all the soaps, toothpaste, creams, etc. also has alcohol in it. Please suggest if these can be used.
