I have a Kenmore ELITE Ultra dishwasher model 66513163k701- My problem started a while back when once and a while it would just STOP on its own- The STATUS bar would blink (this would occur normally if the door was opened during a wash) but now the STATUS BAR blinks and it would stop during a cycle. Now it just won't run through anycycle. I want to reset the control panel like some older blogs on this issue but with other Kenmore models I found on the internet- HELP?

Check the float switch and make sure it moves freely. You should hear or feel the little switch click when you raise the float, too. Check the filter and the arms. You never know what caused it to quit working. Many times it is a safety that tripped and if that is the case then you will have to fix what is causing the safety to trip. YouTube is a good source of information on any home appliance. Appliance manufacturers and good technicians post many good videos on repairing appliances on YouTube. Just type in good search terms and you will get good results. Good luck. If we can help we will if you need to write back.

I tried the first "fix" and ALL the lights do come on- you say a diagnostic test should be occurring and the lights go out . The lights do not turn off on their own and I don't hear anything showing a diagnostic test is occurring. I have done this first suggested "fix" a few times, even waiting over 5 minutes or more to see if I just am not waiting long enough for the diagnostic test to run but the lights don't go off. If I press the cancel like you say (even though all the lights are on) it acts as though things are fixed, i.e.. The lights go off, I can set a wash to begin but once I press START, the status display bar lights up and no wash cycle runs... When I try the second "fix" you suggested, the exact thing occurs,- all lights come on, no noise of a diagnostic test occurs, lights stay on OVER the suggested 2 minute time, and it does the same- Status bar comes on and blinks----- HELPPPPPPP

You need to look up some fixes on YouTube, starting here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFNSUHn9_cc

I think the solution will be found here. Write back and let us know what you find. Make sure and go buy a good digital multimeter at Radio Shack or Home Depot. You will need it to fix anything. If it's a bad thermal fuse DO NOT cut the wires, just replace the fuse.
