I am taking tegretol 300mg. Took 5 home pregnancy test all are positives. I am getting appt with dr after a week or so. Will tegretol interfer with the result.

Your doctor will have you take a blood test to confirm a pregnancy since it would be more accurate with regard to the use of tegretol. You may possibly have a scan done as well if they have one available in their office. Hope it turns out how you would like it to!

After reading, on the drug, I can not see, any mention that it will effect the hormones and have any effect on the pregnancy test. The drug does make your birth control pills less effective, and also is rated with slight risk to baby if taken during pregnancy. All of these need to be discussed with your doctor
